Upper Docks

Referred to by most that have seen it as the “black heart of Fogdown,” the Upper Docks is named certainly not from the class that lives there, but its geographical location relative to North and South. Its old docks run along the Southern coast, where ships can be seen day and night, loading and unloading cargo. Thousands of day-laborers and dockworkers work about the district, and are usually seen all hours frequenting the many taverns and inns around the docks. Sailors and Fisherman are constantly unloading their bounties harvested from the sea. Buildings are sea-worn and dilapidated, packed around the trash filled alleys between soaring tenements and warehouses. The blocks furthest from wall see the most crime – neighborhood gangs lurking at corners, guild thieves stalking the crumbling cobblestone streets, hardcurrency girls under buzzing streetlights and huddled games of chance in dim alleys. All the while, Fogdown’s northern most lighthouse scans the ghetto blocks like a prison sentry. It is not uncommon for a body to be found in the area’s many alleys – fresh or decomposing under mounds of refuse.
